The Independent National Electoral Commission in Lagos State has said it will present certificates of return to the state Governor-elect, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, his deputy, Dr. Oluranti Adebule, and winners of the National Assembly and House of Assembly elections held on March 28 and April 11.
Certificates will be presented to three senators-elect and 40 elected members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, INEC said in a statement on Tuesday.
The venue of the occasion is Archbishop Vining Memorial Hall, Oba Akinjobi way, Ikeja, on Thursday.
Among those expected to attend the event are traditional rulers, civil society organisations and members of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security.
Others are local and international observers, political parties, religious leaders and the media.
On Sunday, the commission announced the All Progressives Congress candidate, Ambode, as the winner of last Saturday’s governorship poll, defeating Mr. Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party with a margin of 152,206 votes.
Meanwhile, the three senators-elect are Mr. Olugbenga Ashafa (Lagos East), Mr. Adeola Olamilekan (Lagos West) and Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu (Lagos Central).
