Following the results from varied polling units in Benue state, the governorship candidate of the leading All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Samuel Ortom is so far polling higher votes than his opponent.
In most of the results gathered from Makurdi, Guma, Otukpo, Kwande, Ushongo, Gboko, Buruku, Konshisha, Oju and Tarka local government areas, yet to be formally declared by INEC have so far indicated that Ortom may emerge victorious at the final collation of the results.
This is even as Ortom has won Terhemen Tarzoor of the PDP in the Government House Makurdi polling unit, scoring the highest votes of 145 against the PDP candidate who polled 119 votes.
The emergence of any of the governorship candidate may determine when INEC will officially end collation and announce the results.
The assurance of Ortom’s victory is hinged on the basis that Tarzoor is from Makurdi LGA and was supposed to poll more votes than his opponent which was not actualized. Ortom is so far, taking the lead in Guma, his home.
